The legendary British chef, famed for his love of seafood and his coastal venues in Port Stephens and Mollymook, is set to open his first Sydney restaurant next month. Located on Coogee Beach, the 224-seat oceanfront dining room is already attracting strong early bookings.

The new menu will highlight fresh local ingredients, featuring Nelson Bay mahi mahi, Port Stephens pippies, Ulladulla mackerel, and blue swimmer crabs from Nelson Bay in a Singapore chilli crab dish. The classic fish and chips with mushy peas will also make an appearance.
Tobikiri in Neutral Bay – a small Japanese restaurant run by a husband-and-wife team with just around ten tables. Stein admires what they accomplish with such a small crew.
Avenue Road in Mosman – technically brunch rather than lunch. His wife, Sarah Stein, is a fan of their acai bowls.
