"Get The Kids, Get Security": Erika Kirk Relives The Day Charlie Kirk Was Killed

For Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk, learning that her husband Charlie Kirk had been shot was, as she described, an unbearable nightmare. She shared her emotional account with Fox News host Jesse Watters.

"I'll never forget," Erika Kirk said. "I'm just being like, ‘Charlie's been shot. He's been shot.’ I sprinted out of her treatment centre, just collapsed in the middle of the parking lot, called our security. Unbelievable nightmare."

Charlie Kirk, known as a right-wing activist and founder of Turning Point USA, was killed during an event in Utah on September 10. The suspected shooter, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, has been charged with first-degree murder and may face the death penalty by firing squad if found guilty.

The Morning of the Tragedy

Erika recalled how that morning began uneventfully. Charlie left their home in Arizona early to travel to Utah. The night before, she asked him to sleep in their daughter's room to ensure he rested well before the event. The next morning, he rose quietly and prepared to leave for the airport.

"That morning he woke up super early, and he came into our bedroom, into the bathroom, because that's where his wedding ring was and his necklace, and he came in and he grabbed that and then he left. I didn't get to give him a kiss," Erika said.

Her last memory of Charlie was him moving silently through their house, readying himself for another day of work, unaware it would be his last.
