Remembrance Sunday - We Will Remember Them

Remembrance Sunday - We Will Remember Them

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Angus Provost Craig Fotheringham said that on Remembrance Sunday, 9 November, services and parades will be held across Angus, accompanied by wreath-laying ceremonies to honour all who sacrificed their lives for our freedoms.

He encourages everyone to take some time to join their community at these events to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. For those unable to attend, he asks that a quiet moment of reflection be observed alone or with loved ones to remember the fallen.

Tuesday, 11 November, marks Armistice Day, offering another chance to show respect. At 11 a.m., wherever you are, it is requested to pause for two minutes of silence to honour the bravery and selflessness of the Armed Services.

We must and will remember them.

Provost Fotheringham also extends gratitude to current service members protecting the nation at home and abroad. Their service ensures our safety, and in turn, we support them.

Recent years have been marked by uncertainty and the harsh realities of war broadcast through various media.

Author's summary: Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day offer vital moments to honour fallen heroes and support active service members amid ongoing global uncertainties.
