Claressa Shields Signs $8 Million Deal, Eyes 2026 Return

Two-time Olympic gold medalist and five-division world champion Claressa Shields has signed a new multi-fight promotional deal worth at least $8 million, potentially the highest guaranteed payout ever for a female boxer. The agreement was announced on Thursday.

The Flint native’s contract is with longtime partner Salita Promotions in collaboration with Wynn Records, a major music promoter expanding into sports. Specifics such as the number of bouts and locations have yet to be disclosed, but Shields intends to return to the ring in early 2026.

“This deal represents more than just a contract, it’s a statement,” Shields said. “I’ve fought my entire career to prove that women’s boxing deserves equal respect, equal pay, and equal opportunity. Partnering with Salita Promotions and Wynn Records gives me the platform to keep breaking barriers inside and outside the ring. Together, we’re building something that’s never been done before.”

Shields, 30, last competed in July at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena, defeating Lani Daniels of New Zealand by unanimous decision before a crowd of over 15,000 fans. The victory elevated her record to 17-0 and secured her five championship belts, strengthening her claim as the greatest women’s boxer in history.
