A report by Private Eye claims that the head of CMS Strategic, a PR firm working for Israeli arms company Elbit Systems, admitted to placing a story in the UK press about Iran funding the proscribed group Palestine Action.
Georgia Pickering, head of CMS Strategic, was allegedly heard taking credit for placing the story in The Times.
The story, which appeared in The Times, claimed that the Home Office was investigating Palestine Action over their funding, and was later picked up by the Mail and GB News. This occurred shortly before the group's ban under terrorism legislation in July.
A "trusted witness" reported hearing Pickering's admission, according to Private Eye.
