Egyptian journalist Ismail Alexandrani has been held for the past month, which is "one month too many!", according to Reporters Without Borders (RSF).

Alexandrani, a freelance investigative journalist, was arrested on 24 September on trumped-up charges of “terrorism” and “spreading false news” in Facebook posts.

Our goal: to leave no breach of freedom of information unreported.

His provisional detention was extended for 15 days on 19 October, and he is currently being held on the outskirts of Cairo.

RSF demands the immediate release of Alexandrani, advocating for the protection of freedom of information and the rights of journalists worldwide.
