AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) advocates for policies to enhance healthcare access for adolescent girls and young women.
According to AHF, supportive programs and policies can expand access to healthcare, including sexual and reproductive health services.
Over 4,000 young women aged 15–24 are infected with HIV weekly, with more than 3,300 cases in sub-Saharan Africa.
Dr Echey Ijezie, Nigeria Country Programmes Director of AHF, made this call during the 2025 International Day of the Girl Child commemoration.
