McSweeney back in runs for South Australia

Nathan McSweeney Hits First Sheffield Shield Century for South Australia

Nathan McSweeney has scored his first Sheffield Shield century for South Australia since his brief stint in the Test side last summer.

McSweeney's ton has given South Australia hope of a win against Western Australia, with the team at 4-297 at stumps on day three, leading WA by 205.

McSweeney's 103 was scored alongside a patient 84 from Henry Hunt, as South Australia eyes off the chance of setting a fourth-innings target at the WACA on Friday.

After being dropped from the Test side in December, McSweeney has been solid without being spectacular, but his recent performance is a promising sign.

McSweeney was thrown into the deep end and asked to move up and open against India last summer.

Author's summary: McSweeney hits first century for South Australia.
