Cross Country: Park Rapids Runners Qualify for State Class A Meet
The Park Rapids boys team and Greta Galzki entered the Section 8A meet with high expectations of advancing to the state Class A meet.
All eight members of the Park Rapids boys and girls cross country teams that qualified for the state Class A meet were confident in their abilities.
- Juniors Tyler Huot and Parker Larson and sophomores Jack Mitteness and Cesar Quixan Gutierrez aimed to return to state for the Park Rapids boys.
- Juniors Christian Thorson and Leo Kueber and sophomore Andrew Mercil sought to run at state for the first time.
- Freshman Greta Galzki was determined to earn her first state trip for the Park Rapids girls.
Those eight accomplished their goals as Galzki finished third overall in the girls race while the Park Rapids boys advanced as a team with a runner-up finish at the section meet on Oct.
