Revival of 14er Brewing in the Mountains
A RiNo beer brand is set to be revived in the mountains under new ownership.
“It’s a great brand for Chaffee County,”
said Derek Heersink, the buyer and founder of Alamosa’s Spare Keg Brewerks.
14er Brewing, which operated at 3120 Blake St. in Denver from 2018 to last November, will reopen in Poncha Springs.
- The brand was purchased by Heersink, who acquired the naming rights and recipes from co-founders Andrew Kaczmarek and Nate Francescato.
- Heersink, a barley farmer, started Spare Keg in 2017 and sees the revival of 14er Brewing as a marketing opportunity, given Chaffee County's numerous 14ers.
