Tennis Takes First Loss in Sweet 16

Davie tennis players Corbin Drum and Kate Chaffin reached the 7A Midwest Regional semifinals, one step from advancing to the state tournament, held at Guilford College.
Both players showed grit in defeat, with Drum losing to the No. 1 seed (6-3, 6-4) and Chaffin going 2-1 on the day.
“Corbin played the one seed really, really hard (6-3, 6-4),” coach Collin Ferebee said. “It was a competitive match all the way through.”
Coach Ferebee also noted that
“Kate rolled (in the first round),”highlighting Chaffin's strong performance.
