Meta announced that Threads social network now supports disappearing posts, known as "ghost posts", which are automatically archived after 24 hours.
Replies to ghost posts are sent to the user's direct message inbox, with no comments or likes shared publicly. To create a ghost post, users can tap on the new ghost icon when composing a post.
Ghost posts will allow Threads users to share "unfiltered thoughts and fresh takes without the pressure of permanence or polish."
Ghost posts appear as a chat bubble with a gray background in the Threads feed. This feature is available now.
