The Supreme Court has sought responses from the Madhya Pradesh High Court and the State Government regarding the refusal to increase the retirement age of judicial officers from 60 to 61 years.
A bench consisting of CJI BR Gavai and Justice K Vinod Chandran heard the challenge to the Madhya Pradesh High Court's administrative order, which denied the increase in retirement age.
The petition was filed by the MP Judges Association, claiming the order violates the Supreme Court's directions issued on May 26.
The Association contends that this was in clear violation of the Supreme Court's directions.
The case is ongoing, with the Supreme Court awaiting responses from the concerned parties.
