Around 1,000 far-right activists gathered on the Museumplein in Amsterdam to protest about immigration and to "defend the Netherlands".
A heavy police presence was noted, with officers on horseback and a water cannon on standby in case of trouble, following a riot last month in The Hague.
The crowd, mostly men, listened to short speeches and chanted "Wij zijn Nederland" as they carried modern Dutch flags and others used by the Dutch Nazi party.
