The Ironton Fighting Tigers football team and supporters protested in front of the Ironton School Board office on Friday morning.
They were denied a spot in the playoffs due to a decision by the Ohio High School Athletic Association, which was announced on Thursday.
We are out here fighting, for our right to be able to play in the state playoffs.
According to senior Zayne Williams, a running back and linebacker, the team's opportunity to play in the state playoffs was taken away by individuals who have not achieved their goals in life, and this decision has negatively impacted the team.
Despite the denial, the team is still allowed to play their regular season games.
