The Golden State Warriors champion, Draymond Green, had his reasons for not wanting the team to make the trade for Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen.
Markkanen, a 7-feet tall player who can stretch the floor, would have been an ideal addition to the team. However, according to ESPN's Anthony Slater, Green played a role in shutting down the trade talks.
Green told Mike Dunleavy and Joe Lacob not to trade for Markkanen because of what Golden State would have had to give up.
Prior to landing Al Horford, the Warriors' inability to have a stretch big had been an issue over the past few seasons.
