Cape Breton rugby player Brielynn Murrant's change of position on the pitch led to her winning the AUS most valuable player award with Acadia.
Murrant, a product of Port Caledonia, was coming off a championship-winning season with the Acadia Axewomen in 2024.
"I personally didn’t know where I was going to fall," said Murrant. "I didn’t know what position I was going to be playing, there were lots of things changing all the time, but I went with the flow.
Despite initial uncertainty about her position, Murrant's skill set and ability to play at the highest level of female rugby in Atlantic Canada ultimately led to her success.
