The Auburn Tigers fell to the Tennessee Volunteers, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon, marking their third consecutive loss and a 0-4 record against ranked opponents.
Despite being one of the tightest matches of the season, the Auburn Tigers (13-6, 4-4) were swept by the No. 16 Tennessee Volunteers (14-3, 5-2) at the Food City Center in Knoxville.
Tennessee opened the first set with a 6-0 lead, but Auburn countered strongly, narrowing the gap to 12-14. The middle and right sides of the Auburn offense were the most successful, with Bel Zimmerman posting five kills and Grace Havlicek recording three.
The sweep marked the Tigers’ third consecutive loss, and they now rank ninth in the SEC.
