440 Main Restaurant has a rich history spanning around 30 years, and its building has been home to various businesses, making it one of the oldest in the city.
The building once featured a banquet hall where people would gather to dance, including a young girl named Mary. According to legend, Mary fell while dancing, although the exact circumstances of her fall are unclear.
General Manager Amanda Gilich notes that some staff members have had experiences with Mary.
Mickey, one of the other former owners, has told us stories that she’s experienced, Gilich said. She added that she has had minor experiences, such as catching a shadow or feeling a weird sensation when closing the restaurant.
