Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, a former lawmaker and businessman, has explained his decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing his confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s leadership and economic vision for Nigeria.
Murray-Bruce, who represented Bayelsa East Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly, stated that his defection was driven by his belief in Tinubu’s capacity to rebuild the nation’s economy, rather than personal interest or political ambition.
“It’s about leadership; it’s not about the party,”
he said during an interview on Prime Time, an Arise Television programme. Murray-Bruce emphasized that the quality of leadership is more important than the political party, saying
“Forget about party — parties are irrelevant. It’s about the man at the top.”
