Director John Waters, also known as "The Prince of Puke," "The Anal Ambassador," or "The Pope of Trash," has built a career on creating films that evoke strong reactions.
His early works, known as the "Trash Trilogy," include "Multiple Maniacs," "Pink Flamingos," and "Female Trouble." Later, he made bigger-budget films like "Cry-Baby" and "Serial Mom."
He was famously referred to as "The Pope of Trash" by author William S. Burroughs.
