Lady Gators Soccer Secures 4th Region Title

The Greenwood girls soccer team has won their 4th Region title for the first time since 2020, defeating Bowling Green 2-1.

The Lady Gators advanced to the KHSAA state tournament after a thrilling match, with both their goals scored in the second period.

Bowling Green initially took the lead in the 21st minute, with Zippi Willgruber scoring from a corner kick. However, Greenwood's Landry Campbell and Caroline Drexel turned the game around with their goals in the 56th minute and later.

Caroline Drexel leaned in and used her head to get the ball up in the air, and it bounced in to tie the game 1-1.

The Lady Gators then went on to secure the winning goal, with Campbell finding the back of the net, ending the match 2-1 in their favor.
