Columbia Woman Arrested for Methamphetamine Possession

A 48-year-old Columbia woman, Talesha Louise Woods, was arrested on Thursday for possessing methamphetamine.

According to the report, a Columbia police officer was dispatched to a Super 8 Motel at 1 a.m. on October 16 due to a possible drug use incident. While en route, another officer made contact with Woods, who had a felony warrant.

Woods informed the officer she had "dope" in her backpack after being given a Miranda warning.

The officer searched her backpack and found a scale and two bags of meth, weighing 20 grams. Woods was booked into Boone County Jail without bond and formally charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Deliver Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid.
