Democratic Senator John Fetterman stated that his party is to blame for the ongoing government shutdown.
In a town hall hosted by NewsNation's Chris Cuomo, Fetterman expressed his willingness to discuss extending tax credits for healthcare, which are central to the shutdown dispute.
"But I would remind everybody, too, this was designed by the Democratic Party to expire at the end of the year. This is not something taken from by the Republicans. That's, they were designed to expire now. Let's have a conversation to extend it and not shut our government down,"
NPR reported that the tax credits making Affordable Care Act health care premiums affordable are set to expire in December, with Democrats seeking extension before November 1 enrollment begins, conditioning it on government reopening.
