A Mount Pleasant neighborhood is urging the Town Council to install speed humps on a road with a history of speeding issues.
Residents of the Oaks at Marsh View have been requesting speed humps on Mossy Branch Way for nearly four years. According to Sandy Quinqe, the homeowner's association president, drivers use the road as a shortcut from Rifle Range Road to Ben Sawyer Boulevard.
Despite three traffic studies, no action has been taken. A recent near-miss incident has prompted residents to bring their concerns directly to the town council.
"We had this horrible thing," said Brittany Webb, an Oaks at Marsh View resident. "Had we just gotten a speed bump that we'd been asking for, this could have slowed him down.
Residents hope that the town council will take their concerns seriously and install speed humps to improve safety on the road.
