Florida's 'Free Kill' Law Repeal Advances
A proposed repeal of Florida's law denying some families the ability to sue for non-economic damages has advanced to the penultimate House Committee.

The bill, HB 6003, was voted 16-2 to advance by the House Civil Justice and Claims Subcommittee. It is similar to a previously approved bill that was vetoed by Gov. Ron DeSantis due to its lack of caps on damages.
- The bill would allow families to sue for non-economic damages, such as grief and loss of companionship, in cases of hospital or doctor errors.
- Rep. Dana Trabulsy and Rep. Johanna López have revived the proposal without limits on damages.
