Aren Pearson, 41, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for murdering his partner, Claire Leveque, 24, in a hot tub in Shetland.
Claire, a Canadian national, had travelled from Canada to live with Pearson and his mother in October 2023, just months before her murder.
The incident occurred on February 11, 2024, in a garage at a property in the Sandness area, where Pearson repeatedly stabbed Claire in the head, neck, and body, and inflicted blunt force trauma on her.
The assault was described as "truly horrifying".
