Game-Changing Soccer Program Growing Elite Local Talent
A new soccer program, PE Soccer Academy Selects, has been introduced in the Elk Valley, with Fernie poised to become a regional hub for youth soccer.
The program, which ran for the first time this fall, coached 25 players aged 7-14 on technical skills and advanced game understanding.
- Sessions were held twice a week in September and October
- Utilized the Canada Soccer Long-Term Player Development framework and the UEFA Grassroots model
It’s clear that Fernie has an abundance of young soccer talent, and that a genuine soccer culture is taking root.
