Steampunk Cat Masquerade Fundraiser to Tackle Kitten Overpopulation
The Big Thicket Cat Sanctuary in southeast Texas is hosting a steampunk-themed cat masquerade event to address the region's kitten overpopulation crisis.
The sanctuary focuses on rescuing and rehabilitating kittens, aiming to ensure they are healthy, spayed or neutered, and ready for adoption into loving homes.
"We realized there's a serious problem," said Jerry Mendez from the sanctuary. "We have to do something about this."
The sanctuary currently cares for 54 kittens, with numbers fluctuating due to ongoing adoptions and rescues.
- The organization is organizing two raffles to support its mission, featuring:
- A Glock model 19 with a tactical holster and light
- A 42-inch zero-turn lawnmower
Proceeds will fund veterinary care and other needs for the kittens.
