Monks Named New Bennington Town Manager
Dan Monks was named the new town manager of Bennington by the Select Board.
Monks has been the assistant town manager for a decade under the late Stuart Hurd. He stepped into the manager's role on an acting basis in July when Hurd went on medical leave.
"I am humbled by your action; I know I have huge shoes to fill,"
Monks expressed his gratitude to the board, town staff, and the people of Bennington. He also thanked his mentor, Stuart Hurd, for his lifetime of service.
