Brinda Acharya, who was most recently seen in veteran filmmaker S Narayan’s latest, Maarutha, has another release in only a week’s time. This time, the actress is part of a comedy heist drama called Bank of Bhagyalakshmi, which has Dheekshith Shetty in the lead. The actress plays an employee of the cooperative society that a bunch of amateur thieves lay siege on, in the film that hits theatres on November 27.
The film fits in perfectly with Brinda’s attempts to do different characters in each project, she says. “As an actor, I want to be able to show audiences all that I am capable of with each passing project. It’s what I had been following since my debut in Premam Poojyam. But after Kousalya Supraja Rama, most of the offers that came required me to sport curly hair and be all bubbly, like my character Shivani. At the time, Bank of Bhagyalakshmi came like a breath of fresh air and was a welcome break from the bubbly girl roles that were coming to me.”
