Former East Ridge Judge Charged With Threatening To Kill Wife, Her Friend
A former Chattanooga attorney and East Ridge judge, Cris Helton, 63, has been arrested in Panama City, Fla., on a charge of threatening to kill his wife and her friend.
Helton was arrested on the felony count of making a written threat to kill or do bodily harm after he texted his wife, Kimberly J. Helton, a photograph of a large black and silver kitchen knife at approximately midnight on the 28th.
"I take that back I will kill both of you first. Don't forget she knows your worth."
According to police, the victim was afraid for her life and did not want to be close to the defendant due to the threats. Helton admitted to taking the photo and sending it to the victim.
