On November 5, China State Shipbuilding Corporation’s Beihai Shipbuilding, together with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC), hosted the delivery and naming ceremony of the fourth 210,000 DWT LNG dual-fuel bulk carrier named “RURI EARTH”. The vessel was custom-built for Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL).
As the flagship of the first four bulk carriers constructed by Beihai Shipbuilding for MOL, the delivery of the RURI EARTH marks the successful completion of their initial collaboration. The vessel represents a key milestone in their strategic partnership.
The ship’s propulsion system meets the latest environmental requirements established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Beihai Shipbuilding has integrated sustainable practices throughout the construction process, focusing on green development and operational efficiency.
“From optimizing processes during construction to ensuring operational performance, Beihai Shipbuilding continues to pursue full-lifecycle green development and the goal of building high-quality vessels.”
This batch of advanced LNG-fueled bulk carriers built by Beihai Shipbuilding has earned strong recognition from shipowner MOL, the classification society ClassNK, and several charterers.
The RURI EARTH’s handover highlights progress in eco-efficient shipbuilding and strengthens the partnership between Beihai Shipbuilding and MOL.
