Jordan Staal set a new team record, exemplifying unmatched consistency and leadership. His lasting influence goes beyond statistics, shaping the resilience of the Hurricanes.
The Carolina Hurricanes have been a team for 28 seasons. Tonight, captain Jordan Staal will play more games as a Hurricane than anyone else in the team's history. At 37 years old, Staal has spent 14 seasons with Carolina and will appear in his 910th game against the Minnesota Wild.
"As a player, he's someone that is extremely consistent," said linemate Seth Jarvis. "He's kind of the pinnacle of consistency for this team. Every night, you know what to expect and I think he delivers and that's something our team really leans on."
"You talk about consistency in people and that's what he is," said coach Rod Brind'Amour. "The fact that he just does it right on and off the ice. That's the kind of person you want representing your organization."
Staal’s reputation for reliability is well-earned; regardless of the year, game, or situation, he always delivers. This unwavering performance is key to his success and ongoing impact two decades into his career.
Throughout his career, Staal has been a Selke Trophy-caliber centerman, consistently facing the toughest opponents night after night. Even at 37, he continues to perform at a high level.
