Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski made a strong impression in his Misfits Boxing debut in Nashville, securing a knockout victory in the fourth round. The fight drew attention for the significant age difference between Arlovski and his opponent, Netflix reality TV star Kelechi ‘Kelz’ Dyke.
Arlovski, who won his first interim UFC heavyweight title in 2005 when Kelz was only 11 years old, demonstrated his veteran power and skill early on. He controlled the ring against the younger, physically imposing opponent.
The bout marked Arlovski’s third fight since leaving the UFC last year, with previous wins in BKFC and Dirty Boxing by doctor’s stoppage. Arlovski started aggressively, aiming to finish early, while Kelz showed resilience by resisting the experienced fighter’s attacks and nearly pushing him to rely on MMA grappling techniques.
Later in the second round, Arlovski landed a solid right hand, narrowly escaping trouble. Fans might have been concerned about his difficulty in finishing a less experienced opponent, but the action continued beyond the early rounds.
Although Kelz made it to the fourth round, he was visibly impaired after the third. With just over a minute remaining, Arlovski delivered a powerful right hand that knocked Kelz down instantly, ending the fight.
“Arlovski blasted out Kelz with a big right hand that sent the Brit down instantly.”
Arlovski’s debut reaffirmed his enduring boxing skills and knockout power, even years after his UFC peak.
