The second issue of Star Wars: Boba Fett – Black, White and Red takes us to Meddan, a newly introduced planet in the Star Wars universe. It appears heavily populated, filled with shady characters and thriving underworld activities, similar to Coruscant or Nar Shaddaa.
Boba Fett, known as one of the most relentless bounty hunters in the galaxy, faces a challenging target: Samu Mavolak. Mavolak is notorious for being extremely difficult to apprehend, having accrued debts with many and developed exceptional skills in escaping. At one point, he even outsmarted Boba Fett, though his deception was soon uncovered.
“Boba Fett might be incredibly dangerous, but he’s not a monster.”
Despite his fearsome reputation, Boba Fett displays humanity towards his target. This nuance briefly reminded me of Din Djarin, as the story diverges from the usual relentless pursuit typical of Boba Fett’s previous hunts.
Samu Mavolak is a Zeltron, a red-skinned humanoid species known within the Star Wars lore.
This issue offers a standard bounty hunter story with a slight humanizing touch for Boba Fett, set against the familiar backdrop of the Star Wars underworld.
This issue adds subtle depth to Boba Fett’s character, showing a rare glimpse of empathy while delivering a familiar adventure in a fresh setting.
