Royal author Andrew Lownie claimed that Queen Elizabeth II knew her son, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, had prostitutes visiting Buckingham Palace regularly. This was stated during a November 6 appearance on NewsNation.
According to Lownie, Andrew brought prostitutes to the palace for years, and staff who witnessed this reported it to their superiors. However, their complaints were ignored.
“Of course the Queen knew [about Andrew’s proclivities]. She was informed,” Lownie asserted. “But he was her favorite son, and he got away with everything. They brushed it under the rug — until now.”
Lownie, author of Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, noted that since Andrew was stripped of his title, people close to him have become more willing to share details.
“They are no longer scared to talk or come out and tell the world what really happened now that Andrew has been removed from power,” Lownie said. “Now that he is no longer protected by the queen.”
Us Weekly has contacted Buckingham Palace for comment regarding these allegations. Lownie’s claims follow further disclosures about Andrew in a separate interview.
Author’s summary: The royal historian's claims suggest systemic silence within Buckingham Palace about Prince Andrew’s misconduct, enabled by the Queen’s favoritism and protection.
