Paul Rodgers has announced he will not perform at Bad Company's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on November 8th. Despite the lineup changes over the years, Rodgers originally joined Simon Kirke, Mick Ralphs, and Boz Burrell in 1973 to form the iconic rock supergroup Bad Company.
The band achieved great success over the decades with hits like “Can’t Get Enough,” “Shooting Star,” and “Feel Like Makin’ Love.” They have sold over 40 million albums worldwide, earning a lasting fanbase.
“My hope was to be at the Rock & Rock Hall of Fame induction ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health. I have no problem singing, it’s the stress of everything else. [Drummer] Simon [Kirke] along with some outstanding musicians will be stepping in for me — guaranteed to rock.”
Rodgers shared this message on his Instagram page, making it clear that his decision was based on health concerns rather than vocal ability.
While artists often work decades for an induction like this, Rodgers’ withdrawal came as a surprise given how soon the event was scheduled. Simon Kirke expressed pride that younger artists are covering Bad Company's songs for a new tribute album, ‘Can’t Get Enough,’ underscoring the band's enduring influence.
Simon Kirke will take the stage with other musicians to represent the band in Rodgers’ place.
Paul Rodgers, a founding member of Bad Company, will miss the band's Rock Hall induction performance due to health priorities, with Simon Kirke stepping in to represent them.
