“I have no problem singing, but I have to prioritize my health.” Paul Rodgers shares bad news about Bad Company’s upcoming Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony

Paul Rodgers Will Miss Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony Due to Health Concerns

Paul Rodgers has announced he will not attend this weekend’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, where Bad Company will be honored as part of the 2025 class. Although absent, the band will still be represented at the event.

The veteran singer cited recent health challenges as the reason for missing the ceremony, ending hopes for a partial reunion with drummer Simon Kirke to pay tribute to their late bandmates, guitarist Mick Ralphs and bassist Boz Burrell.

“My hope was to be at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time, I have to prioritize my health,” Rodgers shared on Instagram. “I have no problem singing; it's the stress of everything else.”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 2025 also includes Oasis, Soundgarden, the White Stripes, and esteemed session bassist Carol Kaye. Bad Company received their first nomination this year, while Rodgers’ absence marks another setback following his series of strokes in recent years. The band last performed in 2019, opening for Lynyrd Skynyrd in Las Vegas, before officially retiring in 2023.

Since 2008, former Heart guitarist Howard Leese has served as Bad Company’s lead guitarist, maintaining the group’s legacy in live performances and recordings.
