Rock legend Paul Rodgers, 75, announced that he will not attend the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in order to focus on his health. The event was scheduled for Saturday, November 8, where his band Bad Company had been set to perform a reunion show.
“My hope was to be at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health.”
Rodgers shared the statement on the band’s Instagram account on November 3. He added that he has no issues performing vocally, but finds the overall stress challenging to handle at the moment.
“I have no problem singing, it’s the stress of everything else. Thanks for understanding.”
He also confirmed that his longtime bandmate Simon Kirke, together with several talented musicians, will take his place at the event, promising that they are “guaranteed to rock.” Rodgers and Kirke had earlier planned to reunite as the only two surviving members from Bad Company’s original lineup.
Although the singer did not disclose specific health concerns, he previously revealed on CBS Mornings in 2023 that he had endured 13 strokes over several years. Eleven were minor, but two major episodes temporarily took away his ability to speak.
“I couldn’t do anything to be honest. That was the very strange thing.”
Paul Rodgers, citing his health, will skip Bad Company’s long-awaited Rock Hall induction performance, entrusting his bandmate Simon Kirke to carry the show.
