Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone may finally be collaborating on their first movie—and it’s a Muppets project. The news surfaced when Lawrence appeared on the Las Culturistas podcast with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang.
During their conversation, the actress discussed various topics, including the Broadway hit Oh, Mary!. In the midst of the chat, she made an unexpected announcement:
I don't know if I can announce this, but I'm just going to. Emma Stone and I are producing a Miss Piggy movie.
Lawrence revealed that Oh, Mary! writer and star Cole Escola is penning the screenplay for the upcoming film. Escola, a recent Tony Award winner, has extensive television writing experience with shows such as The Other Two, At Home with Amy Sedaris, and Ziwe.
When asked if she and Stone would act in the project, Lawrence laughed and replied:
I think so… We have to.
No additional information about the film’s plot or schedule has been shared so far.
