Twilight’s End, the newest collaboration between Riot Games and French studio Fortiche, premiered at the 2025 League of Legends World Championship in Chengdu. This cinematic marks the conclusion of this year's League of Legends narrative arc.
The story revolves around key characters LeBlanc, Vladimir, and Xin Zhao, unfolding across four cinematics since January 2025:
The climax centers on the final battle for the Darkin Glaive’s control.
The cinematic opens with a fierce fight inside the Spirit Temple, which appears physically in Ionia during the spirit blossom bloom. Xin Zhao and temple guardian Yunara struggle to stop Atakhan, LeBlanc’s ally, from capturing the ancient glaive containing the Darkin Zaahen.
During the battle, Xin Zhao touches the artifact and is transported to Zaahen’s prison realm. To prevent an apocalyptic future—where LeBlanc and Atakhan prevail, devastating Demacia, his adopted home—Xin Zhao asks Zaahen to possess his body.
“Desperate to stop the apocalyptic vision he had in Beginning of the End — a future where LeBlanc and Atakhan triumph and his adopted homeland, Demacia, is devastated — our hero asks Zaahen to take possession of his body.”
For this cinematic, Fortiche introduced new visual elements inspired by Ionia’s magical and mystical themes, enhancing the world-building in this final chapter.
This cinematic wraps up the 2025 League of Legends story arc by blending intense battles, deep lore, and innovative visuals, showcasing Fortiche’s evolving artistry.
