UNLV vs. Colorado State Prediction, Betting Odds & How to Watch

UNLV football coach Dan Mullen appeared serious and focused during his Monday press conference following the Rebels’ 40-35 home loss to New Mexico. Unlike his usual demeanor, there were no jokes or laughter, and smiles were scarce.

Despite the Rebels falling behind by 21 points, Mullen is not worried about the missed tackles or the 532 yards of offense they allowed. What troubles him most is the team’s inability to close out a late chance to win.

“That hurts, as a team,” Mullen said. “It’s our focus to get back into making sure we’re performing better, and when we have opportunities to make things happen, to win games, we’re doing things to win games.”

UNLV fought back to reduce New Mexico’s lead to one with just over six minutes remaining, but the defense allowed a touchdown run with 2:54 left, and the offense failed to capitalize on their final scoring opportunity.

With a record of 6-2 overall and 2-2 in Mountain West Conference play, the Rebels are aiming to stay in the conference title conversation by winning Saturday’s game at Colorado State, whose record stands at 2-6 and 1-3 in the MWC.

One major positive for UNLV remains quarterback Anthony Colandrea, who continues to perform at a high level. He completed 36 of 46 passes for 382 yards and three touchdowns against New Mexico.
