The UNLV football team aims to end a two-game losing streak when they face Colorado State on Saturday in Fort Collins, Colorado.
The Rebels, with a 6-2 overall record and 2-2 in Mountain West play, are coming off a close 40-35 loss to New Mexico. In that game, their defense allowed 532 yards total offense, including 401 yards passing. To keep their hopes alive for a third straight Mountain West championship game appearance, UNLV cannot afford another defeat.
This marks UNLV’s first trip to Colorado State since 2019. A scheduled home game at Canvas Stadium in 2020 was canceled due to positive COVID-19 tests among players.
Colorado State holds a 2-6 overall record and 1-3 in conference. They have lost their last two games and dismissed head coach Jay Norvell midway through his fourth season. Under interim coach Tyson Summers, the Rams were shut out 28-0 by rival Wyoming on October 25.
Historically, the Rams have a strong home advantage, having won seven straight games against UNLV at Canvas Stadium.
