Karrueche Tran, known for her role on the Emmy Award-winning show The Bay and rumored to be Deion Sanders' girlfriend, has recently opened up about the difficulties she faced in her career while working on a new film.
Tran, who has gained recognition across America, previously appeared in projects like 3-Headed Shark Attack, Claws, and the coming-of-age drama The Chi. Just a week prior, she attracted attention for her striking look and daring fashion at a Variety event.
In her latest romantic comedy Preach, Pray, Love, Tran takes on the character Charlie Jones, a rapper known for her fierce attitude and bold lyrics. This marks the first time the 37-year-old actress has fully immersed herself in the role of a rapper.
“One of the biggest challenges playing this role was RAPPING….throughout the movie that is ME rapping in the songs LMAO.”
To keep her portrayal authentic, Tran spent over six hours in the studio recording vocals. She explained to Black Girl Nerds,
“I didn’t want to just like, go in and just kind of wing it, you know.”
Her commitment to genuinely representing the character led her to work closely with a friend who supported her efforts.
