The 2025 Hong Kong Super Sixes tournament began on Friday, November 7. After a break since 2017, the event returned for its second consecutive season, featuring 12 teams competing for the title.
Tournament Format
Teams are split into four groups, each containing three teams:
- Pool A: South Africa, Afghanistan, Nepal
- Pool B: Australia, England, UAE
- Pool C: India, Pakistan, Kuwait
- Pool D: Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Hong Kong (China)
Each match lasts roughly 45 minutes, with six players per team. Innings consist of six overs, and bowlers can deliver a maximum of two overs, but not consecutively. A batter retires after scoring fifty runs but may return if all teammates are out.
Progression and Consolation Matches
- The top two teams from each group move on to the quarter-finals.
- Winners of the quarter-finals proceed to the semi-finals.
- Quarter-final losers compete in the Plate semi-finals.
- All teams finishing third in their groups enter the Bowl League, a round-robin format, with the top two advancing to the Bowl Final.
