Impending Agreement Raises Concerns Among Postal Workers

Various media sources suggest that the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) is nearing an agreement with Canada Post that could impose severe cuts and worsen working conditions for employees.

Negotiations resumed on Monday, November 3, with CUPW issuing a statement appreciating the intervention of a government-appointed mediator. The union bureaucracy expressed its willingness to "overcome the disagreements between the parties" and to "secure ratifiable collective agreements at the bargaining table."
