Grimes Reaches 1,000 Points as Tech Women Dominate Cumberlands

Reghan Grimes needed only five points at the season's start to join the 1,000-point club. Instead, the Tennessee Tech senior exploded for 24 points, leading all scorers in Monday night’s 92-67 win against the University of the Cumberlands at the Eblen Center.

Key Player Performances

Team Shooting and Foul Trouble

Tennessee Tech shot nearly 50 percent overall, making 30 of 61 shots, with a 10-for-22 performance from three-point range and 22-for-33 at the free-throw line.

However, foul trouble almost hindered the Golden Eagles. They committed 33 fouls, with seven players close to fouling out, giving the visiting Patriots numerous free-throw chances.

Cumberlands’ Effort

Joy Kendrick, who scored 21 points, led the Patriots by going 12-for-15 at the free-throw line despite a 4-for-15 shooting performance from the field.

The Patriots attempted 50 free throws, making 32 for a 64 percent conversion rate.
