Konami Ends Starlight Kid’s Wonder Of Stardom Reign; Saya Kamitani Remains Double Champ - Diva Dirt

Konami Captures Wonder of Stardom Title

At the STARDOM Crimson Nightmare event on November 3, Konami won the Wonder of Stardom Championship for the first time in her career by defeating Starlight Kid, ending her 309-day reign. This marked Konami's inaugural singles title in STARDOM after a match lasting over 21 minutes.

Saya Kamitani Retains Double Championships

Also at the same event, Saya Kamitani successfully defended both the World of Stardom and NJPW STRONG Women’s Titles against Momo Watanabe. Kamitani remains the double champion after this victory.

Momo Watanabe Announces Injury Break

Following the match, Watanabe announced she would take time off to recover from a knee injury:

"I’m strong-willed, and I’m not the kind of person to get discouraged here. I won’t give up until I take the belt from Kamitani. I’ve been trying to manage it, but it seems I’ve reached my limit. That’s why, even though I’ve been giving my all with this knee, I don’t think I can become the strongest until I fix this knee. So I’m going to take a break for a while, and then I’ll come back stronger and definitely take the belt from Kamitani."

Watanabe has been pursuing the NJPW STRONG Women’s Title since 2024 when Mercedes Moné was champion and remains determined:

"I’m never going to give up until I take that belt from you! Don’t think I’ll be staring at your back forever! Just you wait, you piece of shit!”

Upcoming Match

Saya Kamitani is scheduled to face Syuri at Wrestle Kingdom 20 on January.

Author's summary: Konami dethroned Starlight Kid to claim her first Wonder of Stardom title, while Saya Kamitani successfully retained her dual championships, as Momo Watanabe takes a break to recover from injury but vows to return stronger.
