The Storyline
Snook portrays Marissa, a self-made wealth manager whose life collapses when her young son, Milo, mysteriously disappears during what was supposed to be a simple playdate. Marissa and her husband, Peter, played by Jake Lacy (Apples Never Fall), believe their son is safe at a classmate’s house—until Marissa arrives to pick him up and realizes he’s gone.

“It is high drama, but it’s about finding the kernel of truth in such moments. What is it really like to have your child go missing? That was the hardest part—keeping it grounded in emotional truth.”
Snook shared that exploring different emotional intensities was essential to make her performance feel authentic.
“During the first read-through, I wrote on the first page: ‘Must find different ways to cry.’ Because I was crying constantly while processing everything happening to the character.”
